My daughter, who is now 11, used to have the longest most beautiful hair. I never cut it when she was little. Everyone complimented on how beautiful it was.
When she reached 3rd grade was wanted to cut it...SHORT. Well I guess I was more attached to her hair than she was. I hated for her to cut it. I wouldnt let her cut it all off. So she did a little at a time. I guess so I wouldnt have withdrawals. LOL
She has a friend who is 10 and looks almost identical to her, whose hair is long like hers was. She is about to cut hers all off and give to Locks of Love. I think that is awesome, and had I thought about it at the time my daughter wanted hers cut all off, we would have done the same thing. Her friend grows her hair long frequently then cuts it all off to give to Locks of Love.
I tried to get my daughter to grow hers back out long so when she cut it she could donate it to them, but she doesnt want to let it grow long again, not even for a great cause. :(
WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?
Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis.
