Well, pardon the language...but I am kinda tired of it.
I do not know when exactly the problem set in...I have been dealing with it for a few years at the least. I would be in a store (especially Walmart) and I would just get a feeling of dizzyness or lightheadedness. It wouldnt last long, but about the duraction of the time I was in the store. Sometimes my vision would be "off" during the spell.
I never really paid attention to it, until this one time we took my kids to a indoor fluorescent minature golf place. Man, the lights in there messed with me so bad! Not only did I feel dizzy and have blurred vision, but I had a headache I thought I was going to die from. It had a burning sensation at the back of my head. After the headache was gone the spot that was hurting had a spot that left a "bruised" feeling.
I have the lightheaded feeling at least every time I am in Walmart. I told my husband and my mom and I am sure they thought I was making it up. However I have had enough and I come home and did some research...I found out I am NOT alone. Many people suffer from these symptoms from fluorescent lighting!
But the problem? There is no "fix" yet. Getting the stores to go to different lights that might cost them more money, because I was the only one brave enough to step up...unlikely to happen. So what now?
I prefer working at home, but I dont see being able to stay away from places with fluorescent lights, because they are everywhere!
Setting up appointments this week with doctors to discuss this more. Will keep you posted.
