I hate to complain about the rain, however we have had so much rain in the last month that we are about to float away. Our pastures are flooded. If the weather keeps going this way, then my husband will need to start building an arc.
The good part is that our pastures are the most beautiful green you have ever seen. The cows are loving all the green grass. But the flip side is that it has been so wet we cant get anything done. We need to dehorn the cows, but we cant because of the amount of severe weather we have had. We need to move calves out of the pen they are in to the pasture, but we cant because we cant move the cows yet. All my sheep, goats, chickens, ducks and geese are wading in about 3 feet of watered down poo. (the ducks and geese like it tho) Its so nasty, but there has been no way to dry anything out. Everyday is the same forecast. It has become very frustrating. Again I hate to complain because I know just a couple years ago we were desperate for rain. Pastures were dead and to get good hay people had to get it from other states. I dont want a drought, but a reprieve would be great. At least long enough to let things dry out so we arent wading thru knee deep poo!
Our ponds are nice and full though :) The only problem is our little geese and ducks are so spoiled they dont want to hang out in the pond. They want to hang out by the house waiting for me.
